Dart Playing Bio

I grew up playing darts from time to time, but it was mostly just my teenage friends and I seeing how hard we can throw them at the dart board or from how far away. I did play a few organized games with my dad from time to time as well. I never took it very serious as it was just very much a spare time kind of thing. I do remember enjoying playing though. Through college I might have touched a dart once or twice a year. That was just playing at a friends place or at a local bar. When I moved to Colorado Springs in 2000 I did end up buying a bristle dartboard and some steel tip darts. Again, this was just to have something to do when I was bored. It was not until 2003 that I found out about the world of darts that was available locally. I did bowling leagues for a few years here in the Springs and it was through bowling league that I met a good friend (Wes Scholl) who got me involved in darts. Wes just asked me one night if I played darts. I said sure, but just to pass the time at home. But with that answer he decided to invite me to play darts. So we played that night after bowling league and I ended up beating him quite a few games. With that, he started to invite me to some of the blind draw tournaments and asked me to play a league or two with him. Simply put, I accepted his invites and I fell in love with the game. From that point on I played frequently and started to improve my skills and move up the ranks in the Coloroado Springs dart scene.

I have goals of further improving my game, compete with success in regional and national tournaments, maybe even some day on an international stage! Along with that, I have a desire to help promote the game of darts and broaden the number of individuals who are involved.
